Crawl Space Encapsulation Before & After Photos

A new client in Freehold, NJ, was in desperate need of new insulation in his crawl space. A short while ago, a pipe burst, flooding the entire crawl space. The pipe was repaired, but the insulation got saturated. Fortunately, mold hasn't developed yet, but if not treated immediately, it's only a matter of time until it does! 

First, we removed all the contaminated insulation from the crawl space and disposed of it properly. Afterward, we wiped down all the joists and installed ComfortTherm® insulation. ComfortTherm® insulation provides excellent temperature and noise control and comes with a vapor retarder for use in hot, humid climates. Next, we installed SilverGlo™ on the walls of the crawl space. SilverGlo™ is a waterproof foam insulation that seals the walls from outside moisture and humidity.

Lastly, we installed a Sani-Dry Sedona commercial-grade dehumidifier to control the humidity levels in the crawl space. The Sedona directs the extracted water pulled out of the air directly into the sump pump, which will also maintain the humidity levels in the crawl space.

We're at this home in Matawan, NJ to install new crawl space access door. Old-fashioned crawl space access wells are often drafty and leaky, and they can allow pests and feral animals into your home. Over time, these wells will begin to fill with leaves, plants, and debris. The wood will rot, the metal will rust, and when it rains or snows, they'll fill with water, flooding the crawl space.

To solve this problem, we removed the old & rotted crawl space door and replaced it with the Turtl™. A new customer in Middletown, NJ, called our Crawl Space Division after his crawl space got flooded after a big rainstorm. As we examined the crawl space, we noticed that every single piece of insulation was contaminated and full of moisture. Additionally, the humidity levels in the crawl space were extremely high! Although there was none present, if left alone in it's current state, mold will develop throughout crawl space.

This homeowners crawl space in Allenwood, NJ, was in bad shape. The insulation was falling down (due to moisture) and the humidity levels were incredibly high! Fortunately, there was no signs of mold or mildew. So the first thing we did was remove all the contaminated insulation and level the ground for proper drainage. Next, we installed a drainage matting, which is a dimpled plastic mat that allows all excess moisture to work its way over to the sum pump. 

After that was done, we installed a vapor barrier. A vapor barrier is a heavy-duty, 20-mil 7-ply sandwich of high and low-density polyethylene with a polyester-cord reinforcement. The vapor barrier is also extremely durable and is treated with an antimicrobial to prevent mold. Afterward, we installed SilverGlo™ on the walls of the crawl space. Next, we installed new ComfortTherm® insulation throughout the crawl space. ComfortTherm® insulation provides excellent temperature and noise control, and comes with a vapor-retarder for use in hot, humid climates. Lastly, to control the humidity levels in the crawl space, we installed a Sedona dehumidifier. This is a powerful, energy-efficient, commercial-grade dehumidifier that outperforms standard household dehumidifiers by as much as 10 times while using the same amount of energy to run! Now the homeowners have a clean and healthy crawl space as well as an additional area in their home for storage.

Previously our Pest Control Division had eliminated all the mice that were infesting the crawl space area of this home in Mantoloking, NJ. The were mice were getting in through the broken and rusty crawl space vent, so we're here to replace it!

First, we removed the old vent and cleaned the area. Afterward, we installed an Insulated Smart Vent®. This not only will prevent mice, nuisance wildlife, and other pests from infesting the crawl space, but also keeps outside air away, along with all the moisture, winter cold, and summer heat it brings with it. A SmartVent® is designed to remain in the closed position until rising floodwater comes into contact with the vent. Water contact triggers an internal float mechanism that unlatches the door. In the open position, vents blunt the destructive force of floodwater by providing a path through the foundation. By equalizing water pressure instead of fighting it, your foundation can survive a flood without collapsing.
