One day, this homeowner in Brielle, NJ was sitting outside on his driveway, when he noticed several starlings going in and out of a small opening on his property! Since his neighbor had used Cowleys for a similar situation, he got our number from his neighbor, and called us for help. 

Once we arrived, we fully inspected the exterior and interior of his home and determined that this was the only access point that the starlings were using to infest his property. First, we carefully removed all of the nesting debris and then disinfected the area with a solution that targets and exterminates bird mites. Bird mites are parasites that feed on the blood of birds. When birds leave their nests, the mites are left behind without a suitable host for their next blood meal and will make their way into a home to feast on your pets and your family. Bird mites are the main reason why extreme care is needed when removing a nest.

After disinfecting the area, we installed Pest-Blok over that access point to prevent any future intrusions from any other nuisance birds or wildlife. After equipping our protective bee suit, we investigated the area where the homeowner was attacked and uncovered a rather large yellow jackets nest tucked away underneath a piece of fiberglass insulation. For treatment, we injected a knockdown aerosol application into the nest. Several moments later, we injected a knockdown dusting application. These treatments will quickly neutralize the yellow jackets.

Some time after treating the yellow jackets, we removed the nest and, with the owner's permission, the insulation that was attached to the nest, and disposed of them both properly.

A new homeowner in Point Pleasant Beach, NJ kept hearing "scurrying noises" in his attic during the day and was afraid that he might have a creature living up there, so he called Little Rascals for help. As soon as we arrived, we starting inspecting the exterior of the home. Moments into our inspection, we noticed an area of the fascia, above the gutters by the builders gap, that appeared to be damaged. As we got closer a flying squirrel flew right out of the opening! Looks like the owner has an infestation of flying squirrels in his home!

First, we installed a one-way device over the opening and enclosed it temporarily with hardware cloth. Next, we set up several baited devices nearby. The one-way is designed to allow the squirrels to leave the area, but prevent them from getting back in. A short while later, we retrieved all the flying squirrels and relocated them to a new, humane location.

Due to the builders gap, the home is still vulnerable to future nuisance wildlife and bird infestations. To solve that, we installed Pest-Blok over the builders gap. Recently, we received a frantic call from a homeowner in Point Pleasant Beach, NJ who spotted a raccoon trying to get into her home! Once we arrived we spoke with the owner and she had mentioned that the raccoon was trying to rip apart her gable vent to get into the attic. Fortunately, the homeowner scared it away!

After a thorough inspection of the home, we didn't find any other access points that the raccoon could use to enter the home, just the gable vent. It won't rust, is customized to accommodate vents of all shapes and sizes, and properly secures the gable vents from birds, bats, and all nuisance wildlife and pests!

After purchasing his dream home in Shrewsbury, NJ, this customer wanted his attic to be reinsulated with blown-in cellulose insulation. So he contacted our Attic Systems division for help and we were sent out.

Since most of the fiberglass insulation was no longer efficient, due to age and other factors, we removed it all and disinfected the attic. Next, we installed Tight Shell Can Light Covers over all the recessed lights throughout the area. These are made out of a fire resistant material and is specifically designed to stop unwanted air leakage through the recessed lights. Once that was done we started air sealing every single gap and crack in the attic. This eliminates air flow between the living space and the attic. 

We then placed several measuring sticks throughout the attic, to ensure that the proper amount of R-value is added, and then added over 10 inches of TruSoft blown-in cellulose insulation.
