Wildlife Removal - Raccoon Retrieved in Maplewood, NJ
I was recently sent to a senior housing community in Maplewood, NJ, a beautiful suburb in Essex Township just west of Irvington. They were dealing with a wily raccoon that had made its way into a dry storage closet that was being used as a pantry for the facility.
As shown in the video, the raccoon’s harborage area over the walk-in cooler was quite dusty, so it was very easy to identify the raccoon’s distinctive tracks that resemble small human hands. I also found the animals' entry point into the building. The video shows how I strategically set the traps and the thought process that I used to locate them to maximize their effectiveness and trap the animal. Animal trapping is as much of an art as a science and it is important for the trapper to understand the animal’s behavior, including what they avoid and what they are attracted to.
