Wildlife Removal Photo Album: Raccoons Break Through Rotted Fascia in Manahawkin, NJ
The fascia of this home in Manahawkin, NJ was rotted, so it was easy for the raccoon to tear it apart.
Rotted Right Through
As you can see, the fascia is completely rotted!
No Problem for the Racoon
So the raccoon had no problem gaining access into this home! In order to safely retrieve it, we installed several positive sets, temporarily enclosed the areas off with hardware cloth, and then installed several baited devices. A positive set is made up of a nose cone that is attached to a two-gaited, heavy-duty device. The nose cone is going to safely guide the raccoon into the device. It's called a positive set, because we are positive that the raccoon will enter the device
Fixing Up The Damage
A short while later, we successfully retrieved the raccoon and relocated it to a new, humane environment. In order to prevent any additional wildlife infestations, we installed a sturdy, pressure treated piece of lumber over the fascia.
Formed Metal Flashing
We then went back to our trucks, fashioned several pieces of sturdy metal flashing...
Better Than Before
...and then installed them over the wooden fascia.
