Ripped Apart the Shingles

Here's where the main access point was. The raccoon ripped apart the shingles by the gutter to gain access to the attic. To retrieve it safely, we installed a positive set over the opening. This is comprised of a nose cone, which will guide the raccoon into a two-gaited, heavy-duty device to it. This is called a positive set, because we are positive that the raccoon will have no other way to exit except through our device!

The Downspout

Since the raccoon was using the downspout to climb onto the roof, we installed several baited devices nearby.

Cleverly Camoflauged

We also put dirt on to bottom of the baited devices to camouflage them and give them a more "natural" feel. A short while later, we successfully retrieved the raccoon and relocated it to a new, humane location.

Repairing the Damages

Next, we disinfected the attic, cut a piece of sturdy metal flashing, and installed it over the access point. Afterward, we applied a premium adhesive to the area and spread it across the flashing.

Roof Grit

Next, we applied roof grit to the flashing to blend it in with the color of the roof. Now the damages are repaired and the home is free of raccoons.
