Wildlife Removal Photo Album: Groundhogs Hiding Underneath a Ramp in Holmdel, NJ
We were sent out to an office in Holmdel, NJ to safely retrieve a groundhog.
There's the Burrow
As you can see, the groundhog burrow was located underneath the ramp.
Enter One Way, Leave Another
The other side of the ramp was open, which the groundhog was using to exit.
Our Set-Up
We installed a two-gated, heavy duty Comstock device over the main burrow, enclosed the area off temporarily with hardware cloth, and installed Dig Defense® on each side of the ramp.
Underneath Too
We also installed Dig Defense® underneath the ramp and covered the gaps with hardware cloth.
No Interest
The groundhog is harboring underneath the low portion of the ramp and has no interest harboring in the upper portion of the ramp (since that area is exposed).
Dig Defense®
Dig Defense® is a below-ground fence system that is 15 inches deep, 4 feet across, and protects structures against invasive nuisance wildlife and feral animals. Once we safely retrieve the groundhog, we will relocate it to a new humane location, fill in the burrow, and install another portion of Dig Defense® over the burrow.
