Wildlife Removal Photo Album: Removing a Raccoon from an Attic in Oakhurst, NJ
Here's how this raccoon was able to invade this home in Oakhurst, NJ
The Access Point
Here's where the raccoon entered the home.
How Did It Get In?
The raccoon climbed this tree right here and ripped apart the soffit area in order to gain access into the attic.
Retrieval Process: Step One
First, we temporarily enclosed the area off with hardware cloth...
Part Two:
...installed a nose cone over the access point...
Part Three
...attached a two-gaited heavy-duty device to it, and set up several baited devices nearby. We call this set-up a positive set, because we are positive that the raccoon will have no other way to exit except through our device.
Last Steps: Clean, Seal, and Relocate
When we do safely retrieve the raccoon, we'll disinfect the attic area, seal up the soffit with sturdy metal flashing, and relocate the raccoon to a new, humane environment.
