Wildlife Removal Photo Album: Gable Vent Destroyed by Raccoons in Manasquan, NJ
A raccoon broke through this wooden gable vent.
Raccoon Pawprints
Although raccoons are experts at breaking into homes, they are novices at covering their tracks!
Positive Set for Raccoons
We set up a positive set directly over the access point that was temporarily mounted horizontally to the outside of the house.
What's So Positive About It?
A positive set consists of a nose cone connected to a two-gaited, heavy-duty device. The nose cone will safely guide the raccoon into the device. It's called a positive set because we are positive that the raccoon will have no other way to exit the area except through our device. We also placed several baited traps nearby.
Replace Gable Vent
Once we safely remove the raccoon, we will relocate it to a new humane environment, disinfect the area, and replace the damaged, wooden gable vent with a new, sturdy one, and screen it off to prevent any nuisance wildlife from gaining access into the home.
