Deck Was Exposed
As soon as I began inspecting the area, I knew immediately that the deck was a perfect harborage area for not just groundhogs, but all nuisance wildlife and feral animals as well. There was nothing to prevent intruders from getting underneath the deck.
Luckily For Us
After thoroughly inspecting underneath the deck, I found no evidence of any active wildlife harboring in the area. Although this is good news, if the deck isn't properly protected, it's only a matter of time until a wildlife infestation occurs.
How to Fix the Problem
To resolve this, we installed Dig DeFence® around the entire perimeter of the deck.
What Does That Do
Dig DeFence® is a below-ground fence system that protects structures against invasive wildlife. The fence is 15 inches deep and 4 feet across. Since groundhogs cannot dig straight down, they are unable to go around it.
Properly Defended
Now the deck is properly protected against nuisance wildlife and feral animals.
