Wildlife Removal Photo Album: Squirrels Contaminate Attic & Cowleys Cleans it Up in Freehold, NJ
After our Wildlife Team removed all the squirrels out of this homeowner's attic in Freehold, NJ, we were sent out to disinfect and reinsulate the attic.
Left a Mess
The squirrels certainly had their fun in this attic. There was urine and feces in the insulation and pieces of torn insulation throughout the attic.
The Dangers of Squirrels
Squirrel urine and feces can cause bacterial and infectious diseases such as salmonella, tularemia, and leptospirosis. They are also harmful parasites on squirrels, such as bolt fly larvae, that can be brought in by squirrels and infest your home.
Disinfected & Re-Insulated
We removed all the contaminated insulation, disinfected the entire attic, and then added TruSoft blown-in cellulose insulation. TruSoft blown-in cellulose insulation has a higher R-value than standard fiberglass batts, has the highest Class-1 fire safety rating, and is treated with non-toxic borate giving it an incredible resistance to mold and pests.
Can Light Covers
For all recessed light fixtures we installed a Can Light Cover. Can Light Covers are made out of a fire safe material and specifically designed to protect light fixtures from insulation in the attic and to stop unwanted air leakage through recessed lights.
Safe, Energy Efficient Attic
Now the attic is safe from any diseases that the squirrels may have brought into the area and, thanks to TruSoft, has optimized energy usage for year-round savings.
