Wildlife Removal Photo Album: Family of Raccoons Invade Commercial Building in New Brunswick, NJ
I went out on a service call for a new commercial client in New Brunswick, NJ who was having an issue with an adult female raccoon and her kits living in the attic area of his building.
Evidence of Damage
The building owner recently replaced the metal siding and gutters on his building. The only thing he didn't replace or repair was the roof itself, which the raccoon used to its advantage and made a nice entrance.
Ample for Helping the Raccoon
As you can see, there are trees and brush in the area, which is ample for helping a raccoon enter a home. They can climb up the trees, onto the roof and then invade the home.
The Adult Female and It's Kits
Due to the time of the year, I had a strong feeling that it is an adult female raccoon with kits that invaded the home. In order to successfully and safely retrieve all of them, I set-up a positive set with a one-way attached to it. Once the adult female is in the device, she'll call the kits to enter the device with her.
Our Unique Set-Up
We set-up a nose cone that is installed over the access point which will safely guide the adult female into the one-way which leads into a heavy-duty, two-gaited trap.
Call the Kits
The front gate of the two-gaited device is wired open and the back gate is set. So the adult female will exit the area, go through the one-way, into the two-gaited trap and the back gate will close. Once she realizes she is unable to exit, the adult female will call to her kits, who will enter the device with her.
Retrieve Them All
That way we can safely relocate the adult female and her kits to a new, humane location and disinfect the attic area. The owner informed me that he will hire a roofer to repair and reinforce his roof.
