Wildlife Removal Photo Album: Bat Receives White Glove Service in Rumson, NJ
It's not every day we experience a bat issue such as this one in Rumson, NJ
Oh, Hi There!
As soon as I arrived, the homeowner ran out and told me that there was a bat on her chimney! I grabbed my white safety gloves and carefully removed the bat and placed it safely in one of our devices.
Hole in the Soffit
I then inspected the exterior and found a hole in the soffit right by the chimney. I temporarily sealed it off with hardware cloth and attached a one-way device with a bat cone in front of it. A one-way exclusion device is a device designed to safely allow the bats to leave the home but prevent them from re-entering. A bat cone is an extension of the device that safely guides the bat out of the attic.
The Ridge Vents
I also discovered openings in the ridge vent and in between the chimney that the bats were using to gain access into the attic. To fix this, I installed a RIDGE-GUARD® over the opening of the ridge vent. A RIDGE-GUARD® is a system for guarding against animal entry at the roof ridge.
Totally Sealed
Now that the Ridge-Guard® and one-way are in place, in no time at all, the bats will be removed from the home. Once all the bats are gone, I'll permanently seal up the opening in the soffit with metal flashing.
