Wildlife Removal Photo Album: Raccoon Squeezes in Between Fascia and Siding in Neptune, NJ
We were sent out on a service call for a homeowner in Neptune, NJ who was having a problem with a raccoon in his attic.
Evidence
As we began inspecting the exterior of the house, we found raccoon paw-prints on the downspout. Raccoons aren't exactly the most stealthiest of home invaders.
Lazy Critters
Raccoons may be extremely intelligent and agile critters, but they are also very lazy. They will also take the path of least resistance and use that same path over and over again.
Strategic Placing of Traps
After examining the roof, we discovered that there was a gap between the fascia and the siding that the raccoon was utilizing to enter the attic. We temporarily sealed the gap with hardware cloth and placed a one-way device, which allows the raccoon to safely exit the attic but prevent it from getting back in, in front of it.
Return and Seal
We also placed a baited trap near the area. Once the raccoon has been safely caught we will return, sanitize the attic area, seal up the gap with metal flashing, and relocate the raccoon to a new, humane location.
