Made a Ramp for Themselves
After a thorough inspection of the area, we found raccoon feces in the attic. The raccoons made easy access for themselves by using the roof as a platform to stand on and ripping off a portion of the soffit to gain access to the roof. After accessing the entry point time and time again the raccoons made pieces of the soffit fall out and get destroyed.
Temporarily Seal it Off
We're going to temporarily seal off the area with hardware cloth.
Now for the One-Way
Leave a small portion of the access point open and set-up a one-way device in front of it. A one-way device is a device that allows the raccoon to safely leave the attic, but prevent it from getting back in.
Several Placement Traps
We also set up several placement traps along the raccoon's path as a back-up. Raccoons are lazy animals and will follow the same path over and over again.
Last Step
Once the raccoon has been safely caught we will sanitize the attic area, seal up the soffit area with metal flashing to prevent future intrusions, and relocate the wildlife to a new humane location.
