Wildlife Removal Photo Album: Squirrels Break Into Homeowners Attic in Beach Haven, NJ
It Was....
Beginning my inspection, I noticed that the gable vent was broken into and destroyed. After discovering that there was no other access into the attic, this was how the invasive wildlife gained access. As I inspected, I found squirrel fur and droppings inside the attic.
Temporarily Sealed Up
Before I begin cleaning the attic, I need to evict the squirrels. I temporarily sealed off the gable vent with hardware cloth and set-up a one-way device. A one-way is a device that is designed to allow a squirrel to safely leave the attic and prevent it from getting back in.
Multiple Traps Set
I also placed three baited traps with peanuts along the squirrel's path.
Gotcha!
In a short amount of time, we safely caught our squirrels! I then cleaned and sanitized the attic area and replaced the gable vent with new, sturdy material. I then safely relocated the squirrels to a new, humane environment.
