Wildlife Removal Photo Album: Raccoons Slides Into the Soffit in Neptune, NJ
A resident in Neptune, NJ called our office complaining of raccoons in their soffit.
Ripped Open
Upon inspection, I discovered the that the right side of the soffit area was completely destroyed and the chimney was not capped off. I temporarily sealed off the soffit with hardware cloth.
One-Way Device
I left one opening to install a one-way device. A one-way device allows the raccoon to safely leave the attic area, but prevent it from getting back in. I also placed tape around the one-way so I can monitor what passes through.
Just to be Thorough
I also place four baited traps on rooftop around the opening.
Relocated
In a short amount of time the raccoon was safely captured. I properly sealed up the opening on the soffit, installed a chimney cap to prevent future wildlife intrusions, and safely relocated the raccoon to a new humane location.
