A homeowner in Freehold, NJ called Cowleys after noticing that an area on his soffit was damaged. As the customer went to inspect, he heard animal sounds. Once we arrived and inspected, we determined that the homeowner had a raccoon in his attic.
Broken Soffit
Beginning our inspection on the roof, we immediately noticed the damaged soffit.
The Raccoon was Here
As we took a closer look we noticed that the soffit had an unusual amount of weight pushing it down. Turns out, the raccoon was right here!
Utmost Care
Since we do not want to scare the raccoon, we carefully set up a positive set in front of the main access point.
Temporarily Sealed
We also temporarily sealed the area with hardware cloth to guarantee that the only way the raccoon exits is through the positive set.
Added Another Trap
We also put a placement trap nearby in case there is more than one raccoon.
Once Caught
Once the raccoon is safely caught, we will relocate it to a new, humane environment and then properly seal up the soffit.
