Wildlife Removal Photo Album: Raccoon Sneaks in Through Busted Hatch in North Brunswick, NJ
We went out on a service call for one of Cowleys commercial account, a community building in North Brunswick, NJ. The property manager found large animal droppings in the third-floor attic. As we inspected, we determined that a raccoon had broken into the attic.
Tore Apart the Chicken Wire
As we were inspecting the roof, we noticed that the chicken wire was torn apart. We determined that the raccoon was able to break open the chicken wire, which was installed to ventilate the A/C units, and gain access into the attic.
Unsecured Hatch
We found the hatch leading into the breezeway attic. The hatch wasn't secured at all so all the raccoon had to do was just push it and gain access into the attic.
All Sealed Up
First we cleaned and sanitized the attic. Then we propped open the hatch, set up a one-way device and secured the device in place with hardware cloth. The one-way device will allow the raccoon to safely exit the attic but prevent it from getting back in.
Once it's Gone
Once the raccoon has been safely removed from the attic, we will repair and replace the chicken wire and install a new, secure hatch for the attic.
