Why You Need a Professional to Remove Squirrels in Howell, NJ

Challenge

This homeowner in Howell, NJ had a family of squirrels in his attic, and rather than calling a professional to remove them, he attempted to do it himself. Unfortunately, he created an even bigger problem that wound up causing more damage to his home! The trap wasn't secured or baited properly, and was installed in the wrong location! This caused the family of squirrels to relocate to another area of the attic, contaminate even more insulation, and create another access point which caused further damage to his home!

Solution

Once we re-inspected the area and confirmed both access points, we installed a positive set over each one. A positive set is a nose cone that is installed directly over the access point and is also attached to a heavy-duty, two-gaited multi-catch trap. The purpose of the nose cone is to safely guide the squirrels into the device. I'm sure you're wondering, why is it called a positive set? Well, because we are POSITIVE that we will safely catch that targeted wildlife (in this case, the squirrel). We also set-up several baited traps near each access point.

It was so effective that, shortly after we set-up, the squirrels entered the device! We returned to the area and safely retrieved all the kits in the attic. We then relocated them to a humane environment, sanitized the entire attic, and repaired and sealed off the damaged access points with metal flashing.
