Squirrels Escape the Cold in Eatontown, NJ
Challenge
This homeowner in Eatontown, NJ was having an issue with squirrels rummaging around his attic. During this time of the year, all nuisance wildlife want to escape the cold weather and what better place to hideout in than our attics! Squirrels will commonly cause damage to attic insulation or worse, chew through the wiring and potentially cause a fire hazard.
We arrived and began inspecting the home and determined that the squirrels were entering the attic via the attic vent.
Solution
First, we set-up a one-way device over each of the attic vents. A one-way is a device that allows the squirrels to safely exit the attic, but prevent them from getting back in. We also placed several baited traps along the squirrel's path. In a short amount of time, we safely captured the squirrels.
We then sanitized the attic area and properly sealed up the attic vents using an attic vent cover. We then relocated the squirrels to a new humane location.
