Fox Damages Property to Hid Under the Stoop in Middletown, NJ
After spotting a fox roaming around his property on his Ring camera, this homeowner in Middletown, NJ looked up a reputable and local wildlife company, came across Little Rascals, and scheduled an appointment with us. As we inspected the entire property we discovered that the fox had damaged the lattice underneath the front porch and was hiding underneath that area. We also discovered another area in the back of the home that was damaged by fox.
First, we installed a positive set over the two main access points and temporarily enclosed the areas off with hardware cloth. A positive set is comprised of a nose cone that is attached to a two-gaited, heavy-duty device. The nose cone will safely guide the fox into the device. It's called a positive set, because we are positive that the fox will enter our devices! Sure enough, after a short period of time, we safely retrieved the fox and relocated it to a new, humane environment.
In order to prevent any future intrusions from foxes, or any other nuisance wildlife, we dug a 12 inch deep trench and then installed hardware cloth. The hardware cloth is installed 12 inches deep and 12 inches out from the bottom of the home. This creates a sturdy "L shaped" perimeter that will prevent foxes and other nuisance wildlife from digging and nesting underneath the home.
We also installed a new vinyl lattice and installed more hardware cloth over the lattice. Now the home is secured from any future nuisance wildlife intrusions.
