Pests We Treat Photo Album: Beautiful Pergola Ruined by Carpenter Bees in Monmouth Beach, NJ
This homeowner's pergola is only 4 months old, and it is ruined thanks to the carpenter bees!
Carpenter Bee Damage to the Pergola
The customer only had the pergola for less than six months and already it's getting attacked and ruined by carpenter bees. We found several of their drills holes throughout the area!
Ways to Identify Carpenter Bees
There are several ways to tell if you have a carpenter bee infestation. One of which is to look for the almost perfect circular 1/2 holes in wooden structures. The other way is to look for a pile of frass (sawdust) directly underneath the drill holes, which are their galleries.
The Yellow Fecal Stains
The final way is to look for the yellow fecal stains which will be located directly underneath their galleries.
Treatment for Carpenter Bees
For treatment, we injected a residual dusting application into each one of the drill holes. This treatment will eliminate the carpenter bees as well as leave behind a residual that will exterminate any returning and newly hatched carpenter bees inside the galleries.
