Clogged Drains & More
There were a number of sanitation issues with this business. The floor and sink drains were clogged with food debris and grease, there were dirty rags thrown all over the equipment...
Grease on the Walls
...and there was grease all over the walls beyond the stove and over the range. We immediately sought out the manager and the staff and showed them these sanitation issues. We also told them that everything that isn't nailed down must be disposed of. Everything else must be removed and cleaned thoroughly. They agreed that a new cleaning protocol must be instituted and they will start that after our treatment.
Rats Digging the Trash
There was also a massive pile of garbage and trash bags thrown all over the side of the building. This was attracting rats to the restaurant!
Cockroaches Come First
After everything was removed, we treated every single problem area throughout the restaurant with a residual application that's combined with an EPA registered insect growth regulator. This will target and affect the cockroaches' reproductive system and prevent them from reaching adulthood.
More Cockroach Treatment
Next, we treated the main harborage areas with a knockdown aerosol product. This is going to flush the cockroaches out of hiding and neutralize them quickly. Lastly, we installed pheromone monitoring devices throughout the kitchen.
Now For the Fruit Flies!
We then switched our attention to the fruit flies & treated every single floor drain with a liquid application and then scrubbed out each one with our heavy-duty scrubbing brush. The liquid product is going to eliminate the bad bacteria inside the drains that the fruit flies breed in. Next, we applied a bio-foam solution that removes all of the organic build-up, odors, and scum in the drains.
Pheromone Traps for the Fruit Flies
We then treated the severe problem areas with a fly bait to exterminate the adult fruit flies and then set up several fruit fly traps. The attractant in the traps draws the fruit flies close and the bait inside the traps eliminates them within moments of contact. In a short amount of time, the fruit flies will be exterminated.
As For the Rats
Before leaving, the owner and his staff removed and properly disposed of all the trash bags and garbages that were piled up outside. We then installed a number of rodent bait stations in several locations along the exterior of the building as well as inside the restaurant. Finally, we scheduled a few follow up inspections to monitor the bait stations and the pheromone traps and apply any additional treatments if needed.
