Fruit Flies Around the Floor Drains

As we began inspecting the restaurant, we noticed a large number of fruit flies hovering around several of the floor drains. As we got closer, we realized that they were full of trash, sludge, grease, and fruit fly larvae.

There was also a hefty buildup of grease on the walls too.

Need to Be Cleaned Often

We told the staff and the manager that these areas must be cleaned and kept clean in order to avoid any future pest problems. Thankfully, they all agreed and started to clean the restaurant.

A Liquid Treatment for Fruit Flies

For treatment, we applied a liquid application in every single floor drain throughout the kitchen and the sink room. This is going to eliminate the bad bacteria inside the drains that the fruit flies breed in. Once that has been eliminated, so will the fruit flies. After that we scrubbed out each one with our heavy-duty scrubbing brush.

Fly Bait & Fly Traps

Once that was done, we applied a bio-foam solution that removes all of the organic build-up, odors, and scum in the drains. We then treated the severe problem areas with a fly bait to exterminate the adult fruit flies and then set up several pheromone fruit fly traps. The attractant in the traps will going to draw the fruit flies close and the bait inside the traps will neutralize them within moments of contact. After all that was completed, we scheduled several return visits to apply any additional treatments until the fruit flies are exterminated for good.
