Gunk Between the Equipment

This was one of the worst fruit fly infestations we've seen to date. The main cause of the infestation was poor sanitation. There was a massive buildup of grease and other debris in between the kitchen equipment and the floor drains.

Filthy Buckets Left Out

We also found several buckets filled with grease and other sugary liquids. We told the staff and the manager that these areas must be cleaned and kept clean in order to avoid any future pest problems. Thankfully, they all agreed and started to clean the restaurant.

Began Our Treatment for Fruit Flies

As they were cleaning, we treated every single floor drain throughout the restaurant with a liquid application. This is going to eliminate the bad bacteria inside the drains that the fruit flies breed in. Once that has been eliminated, so will the fruit flies. After that we scrubbed out each one with our heavy-duty scrubbing brush.

Bio-Foam and the Pheromone Traps

Next, we applied a bio-foam solution that removes all of the organic build-up, odors, and scum in the drains. We then treated the severe problem areas with a fly bait to exterminate the adult fruit flies and then set up several pheromone fruit fly traps. The attractant in the traps will going to draw the fruit flies close and the bait inside the traps will neutralize them within moments of contact. Once we completed our treatment, we scheduled several return visits to apply any additional treatments until the fruit flies are no longer present in the restaurant.
