This Was Why the Had Cockroaches

There was a plethora of cockroaches crawling all over the kitchen and this was why. There were several severe sanitation issues!

Some of the Sanitation Concerns

There was grease and food debris underneath a lot of the equipment, almost all the floor drains was clogged and full of debris, there were dirty dishes left in the sink...

Old Food Left Out

...and even some expired food left out in the sink room! We got the managers and the owner together, pointed out each sanitation issue, and informed them that if these issues aren't taken care of ASAP and that if the restaurant isn't kept clean, they will continue to have all sorts of pest and rodent problems! Thankfully, they all agreed that it needs to be taken care of, and began to clean the problem areas.

Targeting the Cockroaches

Once they finished cleaning, we treated every single problem area throughout the restaurant with a residual application that's combined with an EPA registered insect growth regulator. This will target and affect the cockroaches' reproductive system and prevent them from reaching adulthood. We also applied gel bait to some other areas in the kitchen. Once the cockroaches feed on the gel bait, they can no longer reproduce.

Next, we treated the main harborage areas with a knockdown aerosol product. This is going to flush the cockroaches out of hiding and neutralize them quickly. Lastly, we installed pheromone monitoring devices throughout the kitchen and then scheduled a number of return inspections to continuously check on the cockroach activity and apply additional treatments if needed.
