Pests We Treat Photo Album: Floor Drains Clogged & Loaded with Drain Flies in Old Bridge, NJ
Almost every single one of the floor drains of this restaurant in Old Bridge, NJ was full of drain flies.
Overflowing
Each one of the floor drains were clogged, overflowing with water & debris, and full of drain flies and their larvae.
Exactly What Are Drain Flies
Also called sewer flies, drain flies are small, dark-winged, non-biting gnats that thrive in drains because of the fats, oils, and greases that go down every drain. The drain flies use this buildup as a food source, breeding ground, and habitat all in one. As long as there are fats, oils, and greases in the drain, drain flies will continue multiplying and invading the business.
Let's Start Treating
For treatment, we applied a liquid application in all the floor drains & sinks and then scrubbed them out with our heavy-duty scrubbing brush. Afterward, we applied a bio-foam solution in the drains, which removes all the organic build-up, odors, and scum inside them.
Some Fly Bait & a Suggestion
Next, we treated the high infestation areas with a fly bait to control the adult drain flies still hovering around. Lastly, we spoke to the owner and suggested a few new and effective cleaning protocols to prevent any future drain fly issues.
