Pests We Treat Photo Album: Termites Coming Out of the Expansion Joints in Lakehurst, NJ
We recently treated this home in Lakehurst, NJ for termites.
Lots of Termite Mud Tubes
The termite issue was in the garage, as we found multiple active termite mud tubes throughout the area.
Purpose of the Mud Tubes
Mud tubes are pencil-width size tubes made by the worker termites that allow them to stay moist underground as they travel to and from their nest when foraging for food.
First, We Need to Drill
Since termites live beneath the soil, for an effective treatment and with the owner's permission, we drilled into flooring of the garage and around the entire exterior of the home.
Injecting the Termite Treatment
When we were done, we injected a liquid termiticide into each one of the drill holes in the garage and around the entire exterior of the home. This treatment binds to the treated areas and creates a protective zone that the termites can't detect.
Sharing the Termiticide with Each Other
As the termites go about their business, they'll come in contact with the termiticide and then bring it back to their nest. They will then share it throughout their colony and, unknowingly, spread it to one another. In short amount of time, the termites will be exterminated.
