Pests We Treat Photo Album: Termites Damage the Home from the Crawl Space to the Attic in Toms River, NJ
This home in Toms River, NJ had severe termite damage.
Damage from the Crawl Space
As we inspected the home, we found termite activity in the crawl space...
Up in the Attic
...and in the attic. We primarily found active mud tubes throughout the areas. Mud tubes are pencil-width size tubes made by the worker termites in order to travel to and from their nest when foraging for food. These protective tubes allow the termites to stay moist underground.
Let's Start Our Termite Treatment
The first thing we did was inject a foaming termiticide into the walls of the crawl space and throughout the wooden beams in the attic.
A Liquid Termiticide Too
Afterward, with the owner's permission, we drilled into the flooring in the crawl space, and around the entire exterior of the home, and injected a liquid version of the termiticide.
Exactly How Does the Termiticide Work?
Both of these applications bind to the treated areas and creates a protective zone that the termites can't detect. The termites will unknowingly come in contact with this treatment as they go about their normal routines, bring it back to their nest, and transfer it among their colony. The applications then spreads throughout their colony, and a short while later, the termites will be exterminated and the home will be protected from termites for many years to come. Once we finished, we plugged and filled in each one of the drill holes.
