Pests We Treat Photo Album: How the Mice Infested the Home in Point Pleasant Beach, NJ
Mice Tunnels in the Attic
There were mice tunnels throughout the insulation in the attic, but how'd they get there?
Gaps and Openings
Our inspection revealed that there were multiple gaps around the utility pipes and vents around the home. Remember, mice can fit through an opening the diameter of a pencil.
Corners of the Siding
Also, the underneath of the siding was exposed and had mice droppings underneath it.
Old Crawl Space Door
Lastly, the crawl space door was old and didn't close all the way, leaving a wide gap in it for the mice to infest the home! First, we installed several rodent bait stations in several locations around the exterior of the home, throughout the attic, and in the crawl space.
Close the Gaps
Next, we stuffed any gaps or openings around the utility pipes on the outside of the home with chew-proof stainless steel mesh and sealed them with a waterproof premium adhesive. Lastly, we scheduled several follow-up visits to monitor the activity and replenish the bait stations as needed. Once all the mice are gone, we will install corner caps on the siding and the homeowner will replace the crawl space door on his own.
