Pests We Treat Photo Album: Commercial Building in Rumson, NJ Has Fruit Flies
This dirty drain is filled with fruit flies.
Spotted the Source
Minutes into our inspection, we spotted a large number of fruit flies harboring in this dirty floor drain.
Here's Why
Fruit flies thrive in moist, smelly organic debris and breed in areas where water can settle and allow a buildup of organic matter.
Apply, Scrub, and Foam
First, we applied a liquid product that removes the bad bacteria from the drain and scrubbed it out. The bad bacteria is the breeding ground for the fruit flies. Once that is eliminated, so are the fruit flies. Next, we're going to treat the drain with a bio-foam solution that eliminates all fly-attracting odors.
Fruit Flies Are Gone
Lastly, we applied a fly bait product around the area to eliminate any active fruit flies. As a precaution, we repeated these steps to every single drain in the area.
Before We Go
Before we left, we suggested a few simple sanitation procedures to the owner in order to prevent future fruit fly infestations.
