Pests We Treat Photo Album: Accidental Discovery of a Bald-Faced Hornets Nest in Rumson, NJ
While this homeowner was pruning her shrubs, she was attacked and stung by several angry bald-faced hornets!
Hidden Well
At first, we couldn't spot the bald-faced hornets nest. That is, until we pulled back a few branches and found it hidden in the back of the bush!
How to Identify These Stinging Insects
Bald-faced hornets are social stinging insects that are a close relative to yellow jackets. The surface of their upper midsection almost looks triangular from the side, and they have white markings on their face.
Bye Bye Baldie
Using our extendable pole, we treated the nest with a knockdown aerosol application. This treatment rapidly exterminates these stinging insects.
Eliminated
Once the hornets were eliminated, we removed the nest and the branches it was attached to, and disposed of them.
