Pests We Treat Photo Album: Severe Cockroach Infestation in Long Branch, NJ

I was sent to an apartment complex in Long Branch, NJ to perform an initial treatment for a cockroach infestation in one of the units.

A Lot of Cockroaches

I started my inspection in the kitchen and that's where I found a massive infestation of cockroaches of all life stages.

Not Just the Kitchen

I also found a few cockroaches in the main bathroom.

Abandoned

Apparently, this unit was abandoned by the tenant and they left all their belongings behind. Although the infestation was massive, the cockroaches didn't spread to any other apartment units.

Dipose and Treat

With the landlord's permission, I disposed of all contaminated items and then applied a non-repellent residual application around the infested areas, cracks, and crevices.

How the Application Works

The application is an EPA-registered growth regulator that affects the cockroaches' reproduction system so that they can't reproduce. This treatment knocks down the majority of the cockroach population to a more manageable level.

Next Step

Next, I used a microinjection machine that sprays a very fine mist of an oil-based product into the cracks and crevices where the cockroaches may be hiding. What this product does is chase the cockroaches into the growth regulator that was sprayed earlier.

Follow-Up for Cockroaches

After all the infected areas have been treated appropriately, I scheduled a follow-up inspection to monitor the infestation and apply any additional treatments as needed.
