Pests We Treat Photo Album: Drain Flies and Cockroaches Run Rampant in Manasquan, NJ
Before this new entrepreneur can begin renovating this old commercial building in Manasquan, NJ, he first needed Cowleys to remove the massive cockroach and drain fly infestation.
There Were Drain Flies
Beginning my inspection, I noticed several floor drains that were filled with gunk and debris as well as drain flies.
Dirty Rags
There was also a bucket filled with old, dirty rags that was also harboring drain flies.
Cockroaches As Well
As I continued inspecting, I spotted several cockroaches underneath the old kitchen equipment and near the utility pipes.
Everything Must Go
First, I had the owner remove and dispose of all contaminated items. Next, I informed him that anything not to be sprayed must be covered, or washed thoroughly afterward. After everything was removed and covered, I applied a non-repellent residual application around the infested areas, cracks, and crevices.
Manageable Level
The application is an EPA-registered growth regulator that affects the cockroaches' reproduction system so that they can't reproduce. This treatment knocks down the majority of the cockroach population to a more manageable level.
Chase the Cockroaches
Next, I used a microinjection machine that sprays a very fine mist of an oil-based product into the cracks and crevices where the cockroaches may be hiding. What this product does is chase the cockroaches into the growth regulator that was sprayed earlier.
Now for the Drain Flies
Afterward, I focused my attention to the drain flies and used a heavy-duty brush to thoroughly scrub the floor drains throughout the kitchen.
Treating for Drain Flies
Next, I applied a liquid application that removes the bad bacteria from the drain and then applied a bio-foam solution that removes the organic build-up, odors, and scum in floor drains.
Begin Renovations
After all the infected areas have been treated appropriately, I scheduled a follow-up inspection to monitor the infestation. In a short amount of time, the owner can begin renovating his new property without worrying about pests interfering.
