Pests We Treat Photo Album: Another Bald-Faced Hornets Nest Bites the Dust in Manalapan, NJ
We were sent out on a service call to a homeowner's property in Manalapan, NJ to remove a moderately sized bald-faced hornets' nest.
Dangerously Close
This nest was in a tree about 8 feet above the ground and dangerously close to a sidewalk by the street on the side of the home.
Always on Guard
There is always a sentry wasp hanging out on the outside of nest to alert the other members of the colony from any intruders.
Challenge Accepted
I took up the challenge! Situated safely in front of the entrance hole, I applied an aerosol knock-down agent to the inside of the nest. This results in a large amount of the bald-faced hornets to be eliminated.
Carried Away
When the activity inside the nest calmed down, I removed the branch supporting the nest and the nest itself, carried them away....
Another One Down
and disposed of them properly.
