Leading to the Bay Window
We began inspecting and found a massive gathering of odorous house ants. They were leading to the bay window of the kitchen and going under the windowsill itself and what appeared to be nesting inside the walls.
The Smelly Kind of Ants
Odorous house ants are tiny, fast ants that emit a rotten coconut smell when crushed or startled. They typically infest homes after heavy rainfall.
Having a Feast
We baited the area with a granular bait and a gel bait. As soon as we treated the areas, the ants went to town and began to feast on the gel bait!
Taking the Bait
Here you can see them dragging the granular bait back to their nest.
Walking Over More Treatments
While they are feeding on all of the baits they are also walking over the liquid residual treatment that we applied on the window sills and around the foundation of the home.
Effective Elimination of Odorous House Ants
All these treatments are designed to allow the odorous house ants to live long enough for them to transfer the treatments among one another throughout their nest. Soon, the entire colony is eliminated.
