Pests We Treat Photo Album: Carpenter Ants Relaxing by the Pool in Manasquan, NJ
A new Home Protection Plan client in Manasquan, NJ spotted some pesky ants near her pool.
About to Take a Dip
I inspected the backyard and came across a long trail of carpenter ants by the pool.
Could Led to Future Problems
Carpenter ants are approximately 1/2 to 5/8 inches long and are wood-destroying pests. They require a water source to survive, hence why they are by the pool, and can forage up to 300 feet from their nest to a food or water source! If left untreated, carpenter ants can inflict some serious damage to a home.
Found Their Main Colony
After a thorough inspection, I was able to locate their main colony by an old, rotten tree stump in the backyard.
Time to Neutralize the Carpenter Ants
I applied a granular bait and a liquid non-repellant along the tree stump, the entire exterior of the home and directly onto the carpenter ants trail.
Here's How it Works
Once the carpenter ants come in contact with either of these products, they'll bring it back to their nest and transfer it among their colony. In no time at all, the entire colony is eliminated.
