Pests We Treat Photo Album: Bed Bugs in Lincroft, NJ
My second stop of the day had me meeting Scott Dellett, our bedbug supervisor, at one of our high rise apartment complexes in Lincroft NJ. Scott and I have been working diligently with all of our housing complexes to develop a protocol that will make the bedbug population become a thing of the past.
When dealing with multiple unit buildings, it's critical to thoroughly inspect the apartment as well as the surrounding units. It's sometimes possible for bedbugs to travel between units. It's not common, but it can happen. With the use of our flashlights and a keen eye we were on the hunt. It's really important to make sure that we turn over every piece of furniture in the apartment to thoroughly inspect all cracks and crevices. Bedbugs love living in the dark and having pressure on all sides of their bodies. Scott found bedbugs nesting in the arms of the chair where the fabric folds over. Ater our investigation, we knew it was time to fire up the HEPA vac!
Scott quickly got to work vacuuming all of the live bedbug activity as well as all the seams and folds in all furniture located in that room. I followed behind him with a light chemical application to all of those areas to be sure that all of the eggs would be destroyed.
Bedbugs force any good company to be thorough. At Cowleys, we can't leave any stone unturned. Customers rely on us to make sure that they don't have to deal with the psychological and physical trauma that bedbugs bring. Once the work was completed and all the furniture was returned to where it previously was, I scheduled a follow up appointment in two weeks. We will be back with our vacuum and hand sprayer to take care of whatever remains, if anything is still to standing!
