Pests We Treat Photo Album: Exterminators in Jackson, NJ
Recently, I went out on a service call for a property manager in Jackson, NJ after one of his tenants found a cockroach in his kitchen.
Scurrying by the Fridge
As I was inspecting, I spotted a few German cockroaches near the refrigerator. I moved it and found a thriving colony of cockroaches nesting.
Health Risks of Cockroaches
One of the most freighting things about German cockroaches is that they can carry some serious diseases such as salmonella typhi, poliomyelitis, and even dysentery, a disease that causes severe diarrhea that may include bleeding.
Wash Up
I continued my inspection to the laundry room and noticed some cockroach droppings in the corner of the room. I moved the washer and dryer and found even more cockroaches in the connectors.
Knock them Down
First, I applied an aerosol application to knock them down so I could clean up the area.
Bait them
Afterward, I then treated all cracks and crevices behind the refrigerator with a granular bait and then applied a liquid application throughout the entire apartment.
Growth Regulator
Finally, I applied a non-repellent residual growth regulator that affects the German cockroaches reproduction system so they can't reproduce and then used an oil-based mister to chase the cockroaches into the growth regulator. I inspected the two adjoining apartments and even though there were no signs of cockroaches, I treated them to be safe.
