Pests We Treat Photo Album: A Thorough Termite Treatment in Asbury Park, NJ
A new commercial account in Asbury Park, NJ was having an issue with termites, so they called Cowleys for help.
There for Years
A termite mud tube is made of small pieces of soil and wood, primarily used by subterranean termites that helps protect termites from predators and dry environments while traveling between a food source and the nest. The mud tubing stretched about twenty feet across the ceiling. We estimated that, due to the fact that the termites were so high up and the mud tubes stretched so far, they must have been present in the building for years.
Several Treatments
To treat this, we applied two types of treatment. First, we removed the mud tubing off the ceiling and treated the ceiling with termiticide foam.
Drilling Outside
We then went outside and started to drill through the concrete abutting the office.
Why Are We Drilling
Termites live beneath the soil and enter your home below the ground level of the dirt. In order to treat the termites effectively, we need to drill into the concrete and inject a liquid application into the ground so that the termites will come into contact with the product.
Start Injecting
Once the drilling was complete, we injected a liquid application into the slab. This application binds to the treated soil and creates a protective zone that termites cannot detect.
How it Works
Termites will either ingest the application or come in contact with it as they go about their normal routines. They will then transfer it to other termites in the colony. The application then spreads throughout the colony and in a short amount of time, the termites are gone!
