Pests We Treat Photo Album: Bald-Faced Hornets Make a Call in Neptune, NJ
The city of Neptune contacted Cowleys to remove a bald-faced hornet's nest on a telephone pole junction box area.
Way Up High
Beginning my inspection, I found the bald-faced hornet's nest on the top of the telephone pole. Bald-faced hornets are territorial social insects that will sting anything that comes close to their nest. For city workers, this presents a rather large problem.
Timber!
Using my extendable pole I applied a foaming application to the nest. This application neutralizes the bald-faced hornets almost immediately.
Scrap it Off
After a few moments, I equipped a scraper to the pole and removed the nest.
Clean Up
I then cleaned up the area and properly disposed of the remnants.
