Yellowjackets Swarming
Turns out the reason why the resident couldn't get into her car was that there were a number of yellowjackets swarming on and around her car!
Why were They Swarming
The resident had parked her car under a tree. Unbeknownst to her, sap from the tree had been dripping on her car. Yellow jackets like honeydew, a sugary substance and they also go after sap as well. They saw this lady's vehicle as one giant piece of candy!
Bad Tempered Insects
Yellowjackets are very aggressive and won't take much provoking to sting people. I explained why this was happening to the resident and to management.
Here's What I did
I equipped my bee suit and applied an aerosol application directly on the yellowjackets, which eliminated them immediately. Once it was safe, I removed the nest and the resident moved her car to a safe location.
What the Property Manager Did
The maintenance guys were going to trim the tree branches that were hanging over the cars in the parking lot to help alleviate the the problem.
