Pests We Treat Photo Album: Bald-Faced Hornets Hide in the Bushes in Monmouth Beach, NJ
A new residential client in Monmouth Beach, NJ called Cowleys complaining about a lot of bees in the his bushes by the side of his house.
Nice Hiding Spot
Once I arrived and started inspecting I could see a lot of bald-faced hornets flying around this one area. I equipped my protective bee suit and started looking for a nest. It didn't take long for me to find good size nest hiding in one of the bushes.
Patience is a Virtue
Bald-faced hornets don't make a nest in the open all of the time. Sometimes you have to be patient and study where are the bees are flying to and from in order to locate their nest.
Here's What They Look Like
Bald-faced hornets greatly resemble their yellowjacket relatives, with black bodies and a predominantly white-patterned face.
Flush Them Out
I applied an aerosol flusher directly into the hornet's nest. This application eliminates the hornets on contact.
One More Step
Once the hornets were all taken care of, I cut down the nest and properly disposed of it.
