Pests We Treat Photo Album: Pavement Ants Invade Condos in Red Bank, NJ

Two homeowners in Red Bank, NJ contacted Cowleys complaining about pavement ants all over the sidewalk and going into their houses. Pavement ants are the most common home-invading ants in the US. These tiny brown to black ants are known to nest under pavements, driveways, and sidewalks.

First Look, Found the Pavement Ants

When I started to inspect the area I noticed that were multiple pavement ant trails going in and out of these condo houses.

Right by the Front Door

As I continued inspecting the condos, I found another pavement ant trail right by the front door!

Trailing From the Trees

I followed the ant trail and discovered that the ants were trailing from the nearby trees and bushes near the home.

All Over the Entire Condo

I decided to inspect the perimeter of the house to see if there's any more pavements ants trailing in other areas. They were, so I knew I had to treat the whole perimeter of the condo building.

Apply Some Bait

As I found many more ants working their way into these houses, I treated the entire perimeter and also around the trees they were going up with a residual spray and a granular bait.

Unknowingly Transfer the Products

Once the ants come in contact with either the residual spray or the granular bait, they will bring it back to their colony (where they feed and groom one another) and transfer it with the other ants, including the queen. In a short amount of time, the pavement ants are eliminated.
