Pests We Treat - Removal of hornets nest in Iselin, NJ
Removal of baldfaced hornet nests can be challenging because of the risk of stings. In order to remove the nest, I first applied pyrethrin dust into the main opening to ensure that any hornets inside the hive were quickly knocked down. I followed up with a foam application to the nest to eliminate any hornets still remaining. Once there was no longer any observable wasp activity, I began removal of the nest. Nothing is easy! This particular nest was built wrapped around several small branches. I thought that I may have to cut away some branches to remove the nest, but realized that if I slowly unravel the nest from the branches it wouldn't be necessary for me to cut away any tree branches.
