Wasps pose danger to residents - Wasp & bee removal in Mantoloking
Challenge
Cowleys was called out to one of the home communities we service in Mantoloking, NJ. Yellow Jackets had built their nest dangerously close to the sidewalk near the entrance to the building. These wasps are very aggressive when anyone approaches their nest and most likely to be stung several times when they swarm, so the manager was quite concerned about potential stinging of residents. My job was to treat the nest to remove the threat to people entering the building.
Solution
Upon arrival, management directed me to the nests. The first thing I noticed about this nest that the top was visible above the surface of the ground. Most of the yellow jacket ground nests I've treated in the past have been below ground.
Before I started the treatment, I flagged the area to alert anyone passing by on the sidewalk. After treatment the yellow jackets are highly agitated, thinking that their hive is in danger. The product I used on the nest takes about two days for the hive to become inactive but it is a very effective solution for these aggressive insects.
