Roaches in my Red Bank, NJ House
Challenge
Cockroaches in my house?
Those are the two most common thoughts when someone finds a cockroach in their house. People expect roaches to be found in dirty, unsanitary commercial kitchens, not there beautiful homes. But it happens more often than you think.
I was called out to a beautiful home in Red Bank, NJ where a very shaken woman was upset that she had roaches in her kitchen. I had explained to her that the roaches had nothing to do with the sanitation of her home. She led me to her pantry which was located right next to her refrigerator. When she opened the pantry two live roaches scurried into the cracks and crevices of the shelves. It was evident that the roaches came out of her stored boxes. She looked at me with tears in her eyes and said, “please fix this.”
Solution
I explained to the customer that she would need to leave the house for the next four hours while I did some micro-injecting and chemical applications. The reasons for having the customer leaves it is that the fog stays in the air and a respirator must be worn while performing the treatment. My first order of business was to fan spray all the cracks and crevices of the kitchen before I used the micro injector. The reason that I spray before fogging is because when the roaches get stirred up from the fog I want them to cross over the chemical barriers that I applied first. Once the treatment was complete several dead roaches were found on the floor. I swept them all up and put them into a bag which I then removed from the home. I will be doing a two-week follow-up to make sure that the activity has subsided and the customer is happy.
