Wall Studs Ruined by Termites in Allenhurst, NJ
Challenge
As this customer in Allenhurst, NJ was remodeling the area near the front door, he noticed something that made his heart drop - termite damage! Since his brother-in-law was a client of Cowleys, he contacted our office and we were sent out. Once we arrived and started to take a closer look at this area, we discovered that the damage was a lot more severe than he thought! There were even more wall studs that were loaded with termite mud tubes and active termites!
Fortunately, the owner was already remodeling the area, but this was still an expensive that he certainly didn't plan for! He immediately opted in for a termite treatment and will repair all the damaged wall studs once the termites are gone.
Solution
To effectively target the termites, with the owners' permission, we drilled into the concrete floor around the home. Once we finished, we injected a liquid termiticide into all the drill holes around the entire exterior of the home. The termiticide will bind to the treated areas and create a protective zone that is undetectable to the termites. The termites will go about their business and come in contact with it. As the termites return to their nest, they're going to transfer the termiticide throughout their colony. In a short amount of time, the termites will be exterminated!
Next, we installed several Sentricon® stations around the entire exterior of the home. When the termites come in contact with the Sentricon® bait system, they eat the cellulose material, unknowingly consuming an insect growth inhibitor. The termites then go on to share this "food" with their colony members. As the termites continuously share the growth inhibitor, it takes over and prevents the termites from being able to molt. If they cannot molt, then the colony is eliminated. Now the home is fully protected from termites for many years.
