Found Some Digger Bees in Jackson, NJ
Challenge
Recently, we were sent out to the home of a new Home Protection Plan customer in Jackson, NJ to treat for digger bees. The homeowner though that she had an infestation of yellow jackets, so those stinging insects are known for creating ground nests. After a close inspection, we reassured her that they were in fact digger bees.
Digger bees are a 1/4 to a 1/2 long and are mostly shiny metallic or dark in color, but some have markings of white, yellow or reddish-brown. They typically nest in areas of the landscape where the grass is sparse or very thin. A sure sign of a digger bee infestation are the little mounds of soil with a pencil-sized hole in it (usually on top).
Solution
In order to effectively and rapidly exterminate the digger bees, we soaked every single digger bee mound with a liquid residual application.
