Business Has Issue with Ants in Marlboro, NJ
Challenge
During a routine Commercial Treatment service for this business in Marlboro, NJ, we noticed a large amount of ants near the sidewalk leading to the building. As we took a closer look, we realized that the ants were feasting upon a recently deceased beetle! We continued our inspection and noticed that the nearby trash can was overflowing with garbage and some had spilled out, which is what attracted the ants! Fortunately, after a thorough examination, we didn't find any ants inside the building.
We informed the owner about the dirty trashcan and recommended that it should be emptied and cleaned ASAP in order to prevent any future pest issues. The owner agreed and had his maintenance staff clean the area.
Solution
In the meantime, we treated along the sidewalk, as well as along the entire exterior of the building, with a residual non-repellant application. We also treated the grassy areas around the property with a granular bait. Once the ants come in contact with either of these products, they'll return to their nest and transfer the treatments throughout their colony by feeding one another, grooming one another, or eating their own dead. This is called the transfer effect. A short while later, the ants are exterminated.
